Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method
--------  ------------  --------------------------------
   6      Cups          Flour,All-Purpose -- 5-1/2 to 6-1/2 cups
     1/2  Cup           Milk
   1 1/2  Cups          Water
   3      Tablespoons   Butter
   1      Package       Yeast,Active Dry
   3      Tablespoons   Butter
   2      Teaspoons     Salt

1)  Put the milk, water and butter in a pan over low heat until warm (butter may not be melted).

2)  In a very large bowl, put 2 cups of the four, the yeast, the sugar and the salt.  Add the warm liquid gradually and beat 2 minutes at medium speed.  Add 3/4 cups more flour and beat at high speed for 2 minutes.

3)  Remove the beaters.  Stir in 3 cups of flour with a spoon until soft dough consistency.  Turn onto floured board and knead for 10 minutes.  Add as little flour as needed to keep dough from sticking.

4)  Place dough in a large greased bowl, grease top of dough, cover and set in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour, or until fingers punched into center leave a deep impression).

5)  Punch fist into center, then outer edges into center, turn onto floured board, cover with a bowl and let rest 15 minutes.

6)  Divide dough in half.  Roll each half into 12x8 rectangles.  Starting at small end away from you, roll dough toward you into a tight jelly roll.  Pinch ends with edge of hands to seal and fold under the pinched flap.

7)  Place each loaf in a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.  Set pans in a warm place, brush tops with 2 Tablespoons of melted butter and let rise at least 1 hour or until dough reaches nearly top of the pans.

8)  Bake at 200° C (400° F) for 25 to 30 minutes.  When done, remove from pan and cool on racks.
