                            Oatmeal Macaroons

   1      Cup           Shortening
   1      Cup           Brown Sugar
   1      Cup           Granulated Sugar
     1/2  Teaspoon      Vanilla
   2                    Eggs, Unbeaten
   1 1/4  Cups          Flour, Sifted
   1      Teaspoon      Baking Soda
     1/2  Teaspoon      Salt
   3      Cups          Quaker Oats, Instant
   6      Ounces        Chocolate Chips

1)  Beat shortening, sugars, vanilla and eggs thoroughly.

2)  Sift together the flour, soda, salt and cinnamon and gradually add to mixture.

3)  Fold in the oats and chocolate chips.

4)  Drop by teaspoonful 2-inches apart onto greased baking sheet.

5)  Bake at 180° C (350° F) for 12-15 minutes.
