                           Kate's Sugar Cookies

     1/2  Cup           Butter
   1      Cup           Sugar
     1/2  Teaspoon      Vanilla
   1                    Egg
   2      Cups          Flour
   2      Teaspoons     Baking Powder
     1/2  Teaspoon      Salt
   2      Tablespoons   Milk (2-3 Tbsps.)

1)  Cream the butter and the sugar.

2)  Add the egg and vanilla and mix well.

3)  Add the dry ingredients and enough of the milk to make the dough into a rollable consistency.

4)  Roll out the dough on a floured board to 1/4 inch thickness and cut out cookie shapes.  Transfer shapes to a greased cookie sheet.

5)  Bake at 190° C (375° F) for 8 to 10 minutes.

6)  Frost with Butter Frosting (see recipe).
