                         John Oakberg's BBQ Sauce

  Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

   1      Cup           Onion, very finely chopped
   1                    Green Pepper, very finely chopped
   1      Cup           Oil
   1      Cup           Ketchup
   1      Can           Tomato Paste (4-6 ounce can)
   4      Tablespoons   Worcestershire Sauce
   2      Tablespoons   Lemon Juice
     1/2  Teaspoon      Hot Pepper Flakes (or 1 hot pepper) -- (finely chopped)

1)  Cook the onion and green pepper in the oil on medium high heat until soft.

2)  Reduce heat to medium and add the remaining ingredients.

3)  Continue cooking, stirring regularly, until bubbling and the oil has a good red color.

4)  Remove from the heat and let cool.

5)  Skim the oil off the top to use for basting meat.

Serving Ideas : For BBQ pork.  Also good as a dip for corn chips.

NOTES : The sauce should be made 24 hours before using.
