                              Cherry Cobbler

   4      Cups          Sour Cherries, pitted
   1      Cup           Sugar
   3      Tablespoons   Corn Flour
     1/4  Teaspoon      Cinnamon,Ground
     1/4  Teaspoon      Almond Extract
   3      Tablespoons   Butter
   1      Cup           Flour
   1      Tablespoon    Sugar
   1 1/2  Teaspoons     Baking Powder
     1/2  Teaspoon      Salt
     1/2  Cup           Milk

1)  Heat oven to 200° C (400° F).

2)  Mix 1 cup sugar and corn flour in a 2-quart saucepan.  Stir in cherries.  Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.  Boil and stir for 1 minute.

3)  Pour into an ungreased 2-quart casserole and put the dish into the oven to keep the cherries hot.

4)  Mix the flour, 1 Tbsp. sugar, baking powder and salt in a small bowl.  Cut the butter into the mixture with a pastry cutter or two knives until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.  Stir in the milk and mix well.

5)  Drop the dough by 6 spoonfuls onto the hot cherry mixture.

6)  Bake until the topping is golden brown (20 to 30 minutes).

7)  Serve hot with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
