                  Austrian Crust for Fruit Pie (Lattice)

 300      Grams         Flour
 200      Grams         Butter
 100      Grams         Sugar
  75      Grams         Ground Almonds
     1/2  Teaspoon      Vanilla
   1      Pinch         Salt

1)  Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl.  Sprinkle in the vanilla.  Melt the butter and stir in.  Form the dough into a ball.

2)  Roll out 2/3 of the dough for the bottom part of the crust.  Use the rest to form a lattice top over a fruit compote filling (sour cherry, peach, etc.).

3)  Refrigerate pie for 1/2 hour.  Then bake at 200° C (400° F) for about 35 minutes.
