                               Apple Sauce

 500      Grams         Granny Smith Apples, Peeled and Chopped -- (1 pound)
   2      Tablespoons   Water
     1/2                Lemon, Juice of
  25      Grams         Butter -- (1 ounce)
                        Caster Sugar (Optional)

1)  Put the apples in a saucepan with the water, lemon juice and butter and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes, or until very tender.

2)  Use a wooden spoon to mash the pieces until smooth.

3)  Taste.  If too tart, stir in a little sugar.
